Adermatoglyphia : People without Fingerprints

I came across this term when I was searching the web for a reason why my mom's fingerprint was unable to record during naturalization biometric and found this .

Adermatoglyphia ( also called as immigration delay disease  ) , is caused by a gene mutation ( SMARCAD1) . There are only 4 extended families with this condition, Recently it was seen in a Swiss family when a woman had trouble getting into US because she lacked finger prints. After looking at her and her 16 related individuals, gene mutation was discovered . Adermatoglypia is an  autosomal dominant disorder,  meaning only one parent needs to pass the mutation for the child to inherit this condition. In this condition there are no other defects .

Artificial Blood Created by a scientist in Transylvania

It might sound like a story from science fiction movies but what you read is true .
A scientist named Professor Radu Silaghi-Dumitrescu and his team have successfully transfused artificial blood into animals ( mice) without any after effects , animals were fine after the transfusion .

The artificial blood contains a substance called hemerythin , which exists in invertebrates which is sturdier than hemoglobin present in our blood .
However the artificial blood is unlikely to replace natural one but it can help in situations where there is shortage of blood and can buy couple of hours for the patient until Blood is found , but it might take years of testing to be considered safe for human use .
